Bewl 15 2012 gallery now live

The Bewl 15 Gallery is live and online here:

The Sharper Eyed visitors would have noticed it was actually live on monday afternoon, but we're cracking through the Capital to Coast images still and I didn't want to lose momentum on the office work with the team here on getting all the editing done. Only a few thousand left to go there so I now have my chance to get this written...

651 recorded finishers at this years Bewl 15, which took place in near perfect conditions around a nearly full (91%)reservoir. if it hadn't been for the wind - it probably would have been record making conditions all round.

The race results can be found on the Nice Work results blog here: and are currently still provisional. The overall winner was Daniel Anderson of Hastings AC in 1:31:08, whilst Tina Oldershaw from Paddock Wood AC won the womens race in 1:40:48

Passing heavy showers, the kind of thing you expect in April, made course conditions a mixed bag of dry/wet/dry, and the wind and warmth drying out the rain that had fallen within minutes on some of the paths. The strong south-westerly wind made the latter half of the course hard work as the wind crossed the valley towards the Dam and the route navigates itself around the waters edge.

Ever had that feeling you were being followed ?
The nearby fisherman had just landed something quite large
no number, no race time, it doesn't matter what species you are

Thumbs up from crimestopper Paul

Purple Patch runners, running through a rainy patch
Winner Daniel Anderson meditating his way around the course
With the reservoir full, what else to do except run round it ??!!
Tina Oldshaw again dominating East Sussex and Kent races

Sam Alvarez putting in a sprint to get her second place
So what next to run ? Where are the race entries still open ?

Wednesday July 4th

We have the RPAC Reigate Summer 10k on Wednesday evening - which includes free downloads with race entry - so get over to that one in good time : 7:30 pm start and a great way to break up the commute home if you suffer the M25 or M23 of a weekday.

Saturday July 7th

Try the Hurt 12k/24k, at the Hurtwood (real name, not made up), near Guildford/Dorking direction (in between) for a bit of off road fun. Views from the north downs across Surrey and Sussex, and a few hills. Big ones, mind. Proper challenging stuff, entries getting into the 300 mark !!

Saturday and Sunday

Saturday and Sunday - 7th and 8th July - The Sussex Triathlon weekend I think entries are still open - Sprint, Standard (sold out) and Middle distance races on a lovely private location for a race. Very popular last year - so if you fancy giving it a go - give it a go !!

Right, the last of Capital to Coast are just uploading - so give the narrowband a chance and we'll have them online this evening...

Until next time
