REP Bluebell 10k and some site updates

If you go down to the woods today (Sunday), you're in for a big surprise... well, about 400 runners looking for Bluebells...

Yes - the Images from Sundays Raw Energy Pursuits Angmering Park Bluebell 10k run is now live online here:
http://gallery.sussexsportphotography.com/a.tlx?k=15ezfk2

The REP site, on http://www.rawenergypursuits.co.uk/ is currenly a bit busy, but there is a great race report on there, their results are here:  when the bandwidth allows:
http://www.rawenergypursuits.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Bluebell-Provisional-Results-2010.pdf

As you can see, I got a bit arty with the log piles and trees after you all ran through in the woods - there wern't really many bluebells to photograph. :-(

It had been raining to start off with, but had just about dried off when the race started at 10:30.
Over at the 7k mark it was pretty dry and pleasant in the woods, but the field hadn't broken up that much to make it easy for getting photos - and some of you were trying to hide !

All in all it was a great off road trail 10k, with some noticable alumni of the REP events turning out to make their presence known as early season markers...

So, the race gallery is here: http://gallery.sussexsportphotography.com/a.tlx?k=15ezfk2
enjoy it !

MOST WANTED
Meanwhile on the gallery, the power of the internet is being used to help you find pictures your friends want !

How do we know that ? - well, using a bit of webcode we can tell which pictures have been right-clicked on the most - and so we are now putting those pictures into a "Pictures most wanted" folder.
And here's the "most wanted" folder:  http://gallery.sussexsportphotography.com/a.tlx?k=452zfke

If an image has been purchased then we try to make sure it's not on there - so what's the point ? - seeing if your friends like their pictures but haven't ordered a copy yet - it's an easy way to get them a cheap, convenient and simple last-minute deadline present - which will last a lifetime ! (very handy for birthdays - trust me!). Go and have a look and see if you can recognise anyone in there !

And finally... the Sevenoaks Sprint Tri
There are some new images up online from the Sevenoaks Sprint tri - here's the quick link to the event so you can go back and check if he got you: http://gallery.sussexsportphotography.com/a.tlx?k=1jvzfi9
There was a super chap who's just fresh in from South Africa where he used to cover off-road terrain races and he's getting the feel for the great british spring weather and landscapes - so we have added his images to the gallery - welcome to England, and Sevenoaks Hannes ! Fingers crossed he got you.

That's it for now, I hope you all had a good weekend of running, tri-ing or London Marathoning and are recovering well - here's looking forwards to the first Bank Holiday weekend of the year !!! Enjoy wherever you get to !

Clandon Park 10k and 4k funrun

Hi everyone,

I hope you have all recovered from watching (or taking part in) the London Marathon, as you can see we have been busy over the weekend - first Clandon Park on Saturday in Guildford, and then Sunday over at Angmering for the REP Bluebell 10k train run.

Pictures from this years Clandon Park 10k and 4k Fun Run are now here:
http://gallery.sussexsportphotography.com/a.tlx?k=2btzfk1

There are some high definition videos of the race starts are on the link above, so enjoy those too !

The weather seemed to manage another break for a bit of spring sun at the weekend, and there were no cars parked in the way of the start line - so everything got off to a good start.

The 10k didn't have any obstructions in the way this year (check last years video for that), and the 4k fun run went off 7 mintues later exactly on schedule.

No cows to avoid on the estate this year either!
Strong finishes into the slightly changed finish area, making it easier to cheer the runners home !

Well done everyone for taking part, enjoy the gallery - and order your photos here:

The REP Bluebell 10k will be online sometime later on Monday 26th

Sevenoaks Spring Triathlon now live

Official photos from the Sevenoaks Spring Sprint Triathlon are now available to view and purchase from Sussex Sport Photography here: http://gallery.sussexsportphotography.com/a.tlx?k=1jvzfi9

Spring must finally be here as it was time for our first Triathlon of the 2010 season.  To complement the ever popular Sevenoaks Triathlon the team had managed to book some superb weather to help keep spirits high.

Some excellent times were posted on the challenging course and you can see the results on Stuweb's site here: http://www.stuweb.co.uk/swp/default.asp?a=2&e=347http://www.stuweb.co.uk/swp/default.asp?a=2&e=347

The last minute challenges to the race numbers did make it harder for us to read your race numbers especially on the bike, so please do have a good search through the "000" pictures to see if we've got you in there, were pretty sure we do - so find yourself and let us know what your number was so we can fix it for you (there's a link on the page with the preview image).

Some pictures from the day are shown below, don't forget to visit the gallery to view all your pictures here: http://gallery.sussexsportphotography.com/a.tlx?k=1jvzfi

If you missed out this time, don't forget the hardworking Sevenoaks Triathlon team also hold another sprint triathlon in September, this year the 19th.  Entries will open in May and these events always fill up quickly, you can find more details here on the Sevenoaks Tri club website http://www.7oakstriclub.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=62&Itemid=213

Well done to all who competed and we look forward to seeing you at more triathlons through the season.  Don't forget to check your photos here.

Brighton Marathon 2010 Race Pictures

A very big good luck and fingers crossed to everyone taking part in the Inaugural Brighton Marathon 2010 on Sunday.

Sussex Sport Photography.com are proud to be the official PR photographers on the day, recording this historic event for generations of Marathon Runners to come.

Pictures during the race will be being transmitted live from the lead race car as well as from one of our photographers around the course during the day into the gallery here (if the technology doesn't fall over!) :

http://gallery.sussexsportphotography.com/a.tlx?k=1k5zfi2

I'll emphasise that this is a Press and Media Gallery so the images are not for sale, but you can certainly have a good look and see what is going on and enjoy the action (or see what happened when you get back!)

If you are a member of the media, you can get an accredited log-in by contacting info@sussexsportphotography.com - please put Brighton Press Image Access in the title of your request.

In the meantime, on our course check today - you'll notice the Brighton Pavilion all cleaned and ready to go - the lack of plane vapour contrails (and clouds) being one of the more noticable features of the day - long may the sunny weather continue - well until Sunday afternoon.
We also got pictures of the finish - but thought we'd leave that until tomorrow to show you what that looks like !

Race Director Tim Hutchings, his ex-running rival Steve Ovett OBE who is going to start the race, and Ex-England and Leeds International footballer Danny Mills will be there to see everyone off on the day - except Danny who's decided to do it in a wheel chair for charity - yes seriously.

Good luck everyone - have a great day.

Finally - here's a thought from one of our favourite social-media commentators - if you're feeling deep and meaningful later - it kind of applies to everyone out there today trying to discover just that little bit more about themselves via the medium of running:

All the best

HONC, F3 Sportive and Denbies all live

Spring is busy springing at last with the flowers and sun finally creeping out for a great Sundays rides and races. It made the outdoor work slightly more pleasant after the torrid winter we have had - not wearing waterproofs for the first time in about four months was nice.

Click on the links below to go directly to your galleries to see yourselves having far too much fun:

Sunday 11/04/2010 F3 Sportive 2010
Sunday 11/04/2010 HONC 2010
Sunday 11/04/2010 Denbies 10 2010

The first event - the F3 Events Sportive based out of Shiplake college saw several hundred riders taking on either a 100km or a 100mile tour around the rolling hills of the Chilterns.

Pictured below is the winner of the 16 mile stage sprint section - beating two of his close rivals to the line...

Meanwhile over at Denbies saw the first 10 mile race run out from the vinyard. Some great views, historic landmarks up at the top of the downs and a nice run home to the vinyard itself (who wouldn't be sprinting home for that?)

Over at the north cotswolds, there was Hell taking place...(HONC) - well not for this guy - he didn't go throug ht estream like the hardcore guys...

anyway, I could go on but it looks like you all had a load of fun.

Also, finally got google analytics working on the site to do action-tracking - which is showing up  a whole heap of data about how you navigate the gallery. Fingers crossed I'll be able to use it to make it better for you all !!

Cheers for now and enjoy the photos and our hard work !

Easter weekend galleries all live

Hiya !,
Another multi-event weekend consisting of 10ks and Duathlons around the Easter Bunny. All the images are now online and ready for viewing and sharing.

I've put a simple table below with links to the four events that were on - which should make it nice and easy for you to go to the right one quickly !

A few moments from the weekend:

It was good that the rain cleared and it was a dry run out on the Easter Sunday at Dorney lake for the F3 Duathlon - the run course was down the south side of the lake, instead of the service road.

The Sparks 10k had a good level of support again from an inspiring number of individuals - some needed a well deserved lie down afterwards.

The Lewes Easter Fun Runs started off with the controlled chaos of the toddler trot - with chocolate prizes for all the finishers

No such luck for the 2 mile fun run runners - they had to work hard for their Easter Eggs

No prizes for guessing who won the Easter 10k at Lewes (ref: right hand person in the image) - although hello to the chap who came second - that was a new one for us ! Good running !

Personal pride in my daughter finishing her second 800m race, not quite going to be a member of the BMC yet... time will tell.

The Steyning Duathlon photos are online, they are just so fresh I've not had a chance to get an image for the blog - although we did find this person posing infront of the prize sponsors board...well done Tam !

With two weeks to go to the Brighton Marathon - if you're doing it I hope all your preparations are going well, and the last bit of long run is going to be injury free. It's a busy month ahead for us a spring springs - so get your warm weather training shoes on and get out there soon - I look forwards to seeing you later !
