FGS XTF Race - free downloads now live

The ForGoodnessShakes XTF off road weekend is now over for another year. Perfect sunny weather, yet bizzarely some snow on the ground, it was yet again another great event put on by allabouttriathlons.  I have photos of the snow, but I promised Bough I wouldn't show anyone...

So, what now ? well, those nice people at Snow+Rock, along with the CycleSurgery decided that you should have access to everlasting memories of the weekend.
So, specially prepared for you to have on free downloads are the galleries from the two days action, from the Duathlon, Triathlon, Swim, Mountain Biking and the Trail Runs.

For Day 1 action - go to the gallery here: http://gallery.sussexsportphotography.com/a.tlx?k=3jezg2g

For Day 2 action - go here : http://gallery.sussexsportphotography.com/a.tlx?k=dfnzg2h

Just search by your race number and then click on the download button to get your free copies.

We have gone through all the images over the past 36hrs and individually numbered them by hand, as well as removed the really dodgy ones (especially for you). So if we can't read or figure out a race number - we put them against 000 (three zeros). Now you can help everyone else out and go through the results for 000 too - and - if you see yourself - use the caption correction email link under the photo and tell us the race number it should be. This will then reduce the number of anonymous photos making it easier for everyone else. Which would be nice of you.

So have a quick preview look at the selection of action that is below, or go to the gallery and get a copy of your free digital images. If you fancy a super-dupa high-resolution copy - then you can order those too.

And if you like the idea of free digital  photos from the race - make sure you let Toby at aat know here on his facebook wall - as he's the one that made it happen with Snow+Rock (so you'll be paying them a visit too eh ?), you can even post your favourite ones on your facebook, blog, emails, website, or wherever else you do. Send us a link if you like !

Until next weekend,
Anthony

REP Firle Half Marathon and 10k free downloads

The REP Firle Half Marathon and 10k race galleries are now live and on line here for your free downloads: http://gallery.sussexsportphotography.com/a.tlx?k=1lyzg37

The free image downloads are included as part of your race entry - so go to the gallery and simply search with your race number to find your pictures. If you had a flappy number, tri belt, coat, number on your back, or generally - a number that couldn't be read - then please do search on 000 and go through the anonymous iamges.
The image download button on thumbnail view, or the download button - just at the bottom of the preview image - is all you need to get your copy. Images are 800px on their longest side - ideal for screensavers, facebook, twitter oranything you fancy, even a 6x4 print.

Well done to everyone on completing the two trail runs, even with the high winds on the top of the downs that almost froze Triss (our man up there) to the spot, and the little bit extra on the 10k, which means you got 10% extra for your entry fee ! Bonus !

Full race reports and other good news things are on the Raw Energy Pursuits website here: http://www.rawenergypursuits.co.uk/events/running/firle-half-marathon-and-10km-trail-run/  and remember to read their news items too.

right - if you're awaiting the FGS XTT images - they are on their way up...
until then
Anthony

Pilgrim Marathon and Half photos now live

All done ! With over 10,000 images, the gallery for the inaugural Full and Half Farnham Pilgrims Marathon is now live and online here: http://gallery.sussexsportphotography.com/a.tlx?k=160zg33

The results can be found here: http://sportstimingsolutions.co.uk/news_detail.php?recordID=11

Believe it or not, but crashing websites in the days before an event are generally a good sign - it's happened to many other events, some much larger than this and all have been very successful and well received. So it was on Sunday at Sands where the inaugural Pilgrim Marathon started and finished - going via the Pilgrims way to St.Marthas Church at Guildford and then back with a small diversion.

Organised by the Rotary club of Farnham Weyside the funds raised by the race are going to be distributed to the Sportability.org.uk and Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice as well as other Rotary Charities. So you know that your pain and effort has been well worth the effort !

Given the hills, the sand and the relatively warm weather for marthon running - the times were never going to be the fastest - but rest assured - you all got a Personal Best for the course !

Four other rotary clubs supported the effort along with Farnham Runners as the local subject matter specialists ! Many of the compliments heard on the day included just how well the course was signed and marshaled - which is important when you don't really want to lose 600 people in the countryside or the woods.

Some notable big efforts on the day included the 100th marathon for Hillary Carter (Route designer and number 100) and his sons first marathon, Sam Powell who was raising money for the Special care baby unit at the Royal Surrey County Hospital after his Twins were born there, and the Husband and Wife team of Dave and Sarah Rollins who won the Half Marathon between them, him first overall, her first female and 5th overall... yikes.

So enjoy the gallery and seeing what your friends got up to at the weekend - http://gallery.sussexsportphotography.com/a.tlx?k=160zg33
a small selection are included below.

Remember it's the XTFestival next weekend or the Firle Half Marathon - so take your pick !
Until next time,
Anthony

Sevenoaks Autumn Tri now live

Well that was the weekend that was the 7Oaks triathlon. I don't think I get pre-race nerves but waking up at 2am and not getting back to sleep before the alarm goes off at 5am, surely isn't a good thing. The good news is I slept well after the race, as I'm sure many of you did too !
Well, the gallery made it live monday, if only by a few minutes, but the gallery is now all here: http://gallery.sussexsportphotography.com/a.tlx?k=3gezfxq

Some people have already asked - what was in the infamous goody bag ? well - have a look at the photo and take a look. And the really good thing ? - not a single piece of littery flyers. That's at least one tree saved. And I'd personally like to thank the Sevenoaks team for the one I had - which included a chicken salad sandwhich, and the cuppa I had at 7am when things got a bit cold. Awesome. Now you know just one reason why this race sells out so quickly... It's certainly not for the fast flat course !

The weather wasn't as bad as the forecast had been - it was actually warmer than it should have been, and the wind didn't get as strong as it threatened - although must have made the bike leg tricky.

There are some piccys on the gallery of the swim, but you'll probably need to search on '000' to see those. Otherwise if you want to see some of the marshals from the Sevenoaks Tri Club in action - search on 'marshal'...
There were three of us out on Sunday covering the course from T1 in, The top of the hill climb on the bike, out in Knowle park, and then finally at the finish to get that proof you really were exhausted ! There were a few deer out on the course, as well as a pixie-in-a-box at the finish waiting to take your timing chips...

The full race results are over on StuWeb here: http://www.stuweb.co.uk/swp/default.asp?a=2&e=357

I don't often end up doing finish line portraits, in fact Sevenoaks is the only event we do it at - but the race is so much of a challenge and so well run that it's one of those that you need the "finish portrait" to prove you've been there and done that.  So thank you to all of you who between recovery breaths managed to stand there and raise a smile to your achievement ! The other upside of doing the portraits was that I actually got to talk to some of you for a change (instead of watching you run past...) and catch up with many of the regular friendly faces I see so often. And a special hello to the nice race supporter who said she liked this blog - *wave* :-)

Now remember those crazy guys at Sevenoaks Tri Club love your feedback on how the race went, because they do all that "continuous improvement" stuff. Which is why the race is as good as it is. So make sure you go back to the website and let them know what worked, what didn't, what the best thing in the goody bag was, and if you could do it differently - what would you do ? Personally I think that a slight change in the place where they start the racking would be good (this would possibly stop T1 racers crossing the later arriving bike rackers) - but hey - what can you say bad about a club that has the capacity to put on a coffee run for all the marshals ? I can't !

So enjoy the memories from the race gallery and the brief selection below - and please make sure you get yours in time to cherish and keep too.

The gallery is now all here: http://gallery.sussexsportphotography.com/a.tlx?k=3gezfxq
and yes I did make it live on monday - but only just.
Right, bedtime for a while and then the Pilgrim marathon is the next event to sort out.

Until then,
Anthony
