Links to the race and event websites are on the gallery pages linked above

Wednesday evening is Summer 10k Evening - you did have a choice of two, but because the Phoenix Summer 10k is sold our - your event of choice is the RPAC Summer 10k - for entry on the day a lovely race starting in Reigate Park, and then going for a quick zoom around the country lanes to the west of Reigate. You simply won't get a better race in Surrey on Wednesday Evening. The Phoenix Summer 10k is down on the Hove Seafront - so you won't get a better race in Sussex on Wednesday Evening either !

and on Sunday 20th July...

Barcodes ! yes barcodes...

Sunday is the F3 Events Marlow Half Iron distance Triathlon which has 600 entries this year, where we will be starting to use pic2go barcodes so we can identify and index the race images faster - getting your galleries ready for you that bit quicker... So please make sure you have them on in the right place !

Make sure you put your Barcodes on in the right place - just like lego man here !!

At the same time the Raw Energy Pursuits race is organising their first Arundel Castle Triathlon. As ever they are covering the race photos as free downloads - but this time it gets even better - with the pic2go barcode system being used to its full potential - we will (internet connection permitting) be publishing race photos live to registered competitor's Facebook accounts during the race. If you know anyone racing there on sunday, and you know their race number too - then you can register here too... bit.ly/REP-Arundel-Castle-Tri-2014-Photo-Gallery
or just keep an eye on their facebook feeds on Sunday morning and give them a big like whilst they are out on the course slogging themselves ragged !

We are going to try to get the barcodes onto as many race numbers as possible from now on - it will help us to delivery the galleries to you all faster, and also - means we can hopefully find you more sponsorship agreements to get the photos posted to your facebook pages even faster.
More news as it breaks over the next few weeks...watch this space...

Now.. Here's a little action from Sunday !
First up the Chichester Triathlon..
OK it's not a red carpet, but it will do, out of swim to T1

full speed through Funtington

Captain America is on his way

Tasting the pig sty fields, which were all about

Family high fives on the finish

Good teamwork

Correct finishing Arms !

Here's a selection from the almost legendary ETL Badger Half - if there was a race that you entered just to get the Tshirt - this is definitely one of them...

See that - a distinctive and practical Tshirt

Hot chilli

Martin models his tshirt correctly, and also demonstrates exactly how NOT to pin your number on if you ever want to see your race photos, ever. Ultrarunners please note ;-)

crazy, but fun...

Blowing kisses to the female photographers might get you better photos. might.

Claudia had a good run

Challenge him to an arm wrestle if the half isn't hard enough for you

Good finishing on the way in to win

Great High Fives at the finish - what race finish funnels are all about

So that's your lot for today, please enjoy the galleries - and if you're competing on sunday, please make sure you put your pic2go barcodes on properly !
And - If you want to know more about pic2go and you're a possible sponsor - then please get in touch - info@sussexsportphotography.com

Until next time,
Anthony

Bewl 15, The Hurt, REP Worthing Tri, and the 7Oaks Junior Aquathlon 2014 galleries now live

Back for a busy weekend after a few quieter ones during the exams season and before the end of term - we have four race galleries now live. Two runs and two 'athons now live - with those being with free downloads, or - as our americans in San Francisco would say - we are "giving away" over 17,000 images for 541 athletes, the equivalent of almost £11,000 worth of screen resolution collections.

If you were part of those two free download races - at Worthing or Tonbridge for the Sevenoaks Duathlon - make sure you get your sponsors value for money !

Despite a few nice dry days over the past weeks, we had a case of the mizzly blowing windy rain - right into the lens on Saturday, followed by bright sunshine at the peak of summer, and guess who didn't put on the suncream. Those sort of patchy clouds changing the light levels make absolute hell for getting the right exposures - one second backlit bright sunlight, next second usually just as the next runner comes past - dull low contrast cloud in the dark woods. It certainly kept us on our toes trying to get things right (no the camera doesn't just do everything automatically!) - the biggest problem was rain on the lens and trying to pick a gap when to clean it. Tricky to tell when your glasses are wet too... I think we managed to get the pain of the hills nicely enough at the Hurt though (rightly named!).

Sunday was a bit tricky - heavy rain in Worthing until 8am for the first two hours, and then drying up, perfect dry but not too hot around Bewl for the 15 miler, and perfect conditions at Tonbridge for the 7Oaks Junior Aquathlon - slightly cloudy with bits of sunshine.

At Tonbridge School it was a case of spot the future at the Sevenoaks Tri Club Junior Aquathlon:
Some excellent skill on display in the pool

faster than you probably. Better Technique too.

The sponsors get their moment of fame at the pool side

Parents and family viewing got quite close to poolside

the run is out in the coutryside and then back onto the track

Crowds stayed around to support each other

Top work and a fast two laps of the track
agegroup team photos are in the medal folders

Tight racing in at the finish

Happy medal shots at the end with friends

A top team of marshals

Well done to all the competitors from the 7Oaks triathlon Club Marshals

Over at Peaslake on Saturday morning there was a tough 10.5km course laid out. There was definetly more opportunity for more entries for what is one of the best races around in some stunning forests and views. Some did the two lap Half Marathon - although it was advertised as a 21km so most of you would have missed that on the race listings pages... which frankly is your loss, and a hell of a shame.
Unfortunately it's only the one race this year, instead of the three race series like last year, so now you'll have to wait until next year. Now that is your Hurt. You'll only make the pain go away next year.

Caroline chuckles to herself as she charges up the steepest climb leaving everyone in her wake

Lower back strength failing ? or just need oxygen ?

victory almost in sight at the finish

Always good when the race directors wife makes it back in one piece

sharing a joke or two at the finish

she was going to do this nude apparently, then it started raining

the blacnket finish together

Always good to have some help down the hills

Running well on the flats

Running far too cool
The Worthing tri was another success with their great man v woman race. Using last years finishing times as the handicap between the men and womens start waves in the open water swim. This year - the women took the victory with Susan Fairfax taking the prize from Colin Dixon who won the race overall with a time of 1:59:40.

Yes I'm Alive !!

Are you sure ? it looks a bit rough

who said the Brits are mad

excellent helping hands from the marshals

strong breakers on the return

Feeling strong off the Bike

Colin Retained his Crown
High Fives for Dad !

Over at Bewl it was perfect conditions for a run around the water, 15 miles of scenic heaven.
lots of flying around Bewl water for 15 miles

Co-ordinated Bolts

Double thumbs up across the Dam wall

Airplanes

Airplanes give your hat wings

Biplane - or twin turboprop ?
So that's it for the next few days. The next race you really want to enter is the Events to Live Badger Half Marathon , and entries are now only on the day so get there early if you want to race on sunday its a 10am start.

In the meantime - please answer our survey here: http://bit.ly/Facebook-Likes-Photo-Survey we think the answers will help us get you more free event coverage - which has got to be a win win for everyone, so why not give us a hand ? answer the survey !!!

In other news - hopefully we will have some other special news soon..

Until next time, train well...

Anthony
