Mid Sussex Tri 2010

The 10th anniversary of the Mid Sussex Triathlon went off without a hitch on Sunday - perfect weather for racing.
The free download race photos are now online here:

As it's the nearest event to my home (at under three miles), it was nice to have a little lie-in on a Sunday and only have to get up at 5.30am !. Great to see some long time friends as well as the friendly and regular faces in the Sussex area - Colin, Gary, Niki, The THE, Emma, to name but a few of the competitors.

By the time I got there the transition was filling nicely and the super chaps from Mid Sussex Tri Club were getting themselves sorted out marshalling the course, setting up the finish and generally organising everything. A slightly different cycle route - cutting out the A23 made for a safer race too.

Unusually because the pool is so well lit, as well as the lane zig-zag swimming (because the pool is nice and big) it is possible to get swim shots at this triathlon of everyone on the first length.I did my best to get ones of you facing the camera - it gets a bit tricky when you don't breath or face the other way though ! I got nicely soaked by the odd hand or kick - which means I might have missed a few of you as I had to sort out water on the lens when that happens.

Mike was covering the new bike course - with the new small loop towards tescos and then off towards the normal loop, but back through Twineham instead of on the dual carriageway. I've cycled the old route, so I ought to go and give this one a bit of a run out and see if I can get sub:50.  That fast downhill from Ansty towards the A23 is still good fun though...
The finish to the run was adorned with the new MST flags - hopefully they were fluttering in the right direction to show up nicely in the background for your finish photos! Some great support from friends and families along the home straight made for a warm welcome at the finish.
As far as I know you all had a good race although the closest result of the day was just 1 second between womens 2nd and 3rd place.

The full information and results should be here on the MST race website:http://www.midsussextriclub.com/MidSussexTriathlon/default.aspx
So a big well done to Steve and the team (that's him lying down at the front of the post race team photo) !

Remember all the photos are free to download and they are 800pixels on the longest side. If you want good quality prints or a larger digital file, or cropped in and detail retained, then just click on the product you want next to the gallery preview image.

Well done everyone and have a good week ahead - hopefully not too much rain...

Right, time to start planning the rest of the month !
