To see the fun run pictures - please search on "fun run" or "000" as they didn't have any race numbers this year.

Race Results for the 10k and half marathon can be found on HS Sports here: http://www.chiptiming.co.uk/results.php

The Race is part of the British Heart Foundations event schedule and raises money for the charity with the help of the organisers Bournemouth Tourism .

Sales from photographs also contribute to the charity, so please help us to make as big a contribution as possible ! Last year it raised over £150 for the charity - lets see if we can beat that this year with the larger entry field !

Further race information is available on the BHF website here http://www.bhf.org.uk/get-involved/events/view-event.aspx?ps=1001321

The Bournemouth Bay runs are always a great day out - and for the past three years have also been sunny. Note - I didn't say warm, the northerly wind that was forecast dropped the temperature severely if you were in the shade but not out of the wind (like a few of us were).
It was however perfect weather for running, and I was a little jealous, especially of the 10k runners.

Blue skies for the crowd at the start of the 10k

This year we had lovely sunshine - albeit straight down the lens at the finish - so I apologise to everyone for using my light reflector to shine some sunlight back at you as you finished the race - but it really is the only way to try to get some colour and sparkle into the shadows when the sun is directly behind you and reflecting of the sandy concrete.
You can see this in the shots by there being some nice colours,  and those of you wearing caps can look at your photos in wonderment at how we can see your eyes under the peak instead of being in the shadows - it's because of the big reflector thingy.
It also makes the reflective logos and stripes on the clothing stand out a bit - which adds a nice bit of sparkle to the pictures. I'm wondering how much it costs to hire someone to hold two of them at a time at the end of races ?

If you don't know the Bay runs consist of a Half Marathon, 10k, 5k and a Kids 1k Fun run. The 10k starts first , and is then followed by the Half marathon which follows an extra bit of route out to the west of the pier. The timing is designed so that almost all the 10k runners should be home in under 1.5hrs before the Half Marathon race finishers begin to finish, and the 5k is timed to start after most of the half marathon has gone back past the pier - but because they turn earlier on the return loop - they get a bit mixed up at the finish with the Half marathon finishers - and that can get very very busy at the camera end of things trying to get everyone !
a late start from the fairy for the 10k

This poor lad has his heel stepped on in the fun run and lost his shoe (pictured flying off), but picked it up and started off in last place

The fun run went off into the sunrise

Shoe back on - he came in third ! Top effort !

good victory arms in the 10k

Second Female, Linda made swift work of the course in 43:27
A job well done for Lisa

Hold onto precious things - dropping the iphone (near her knee) wasn't part of the plan for Rachel. The next runner along picked it up.

Too many quavers can make hair go curly

Good carrying Dad !
Let me entertain you - The warmup routine went well

Oops - forgot the sunglasses

High Fives at the finish

Nice one Dan
