Links to race websites and their results can be found on the linked pages above.

The Bournemouth Bay Runs -  Half marathon and 10k, 5k and Fun run are now being put through final processing and being uploaded. Please bear with us whilst we gesticulate wildly at the speed up uploads on BT broadband. I may drive 10 miles to find some VIrgin Fibre Broadband at a friends shop in Hove... that might save 15hrs or so...

A few quick shots from Paddock Wood and the Sussex Marathon

Teamwork in the first few miles to keep warm

Testing the course - James in 1:15:22 came 19th on his own race and a PB. The Race organiser knew the route

Carole looked quite pleased to have finished the race - brilliant job

Man Hugs all round at the end for a job well done

The start out of the community centre, Mark lead for a moment, and then off down hill for the first of the laps

perfect weather for a run in the Sussex countryside

Perfect form for an airplane

Over 200ft of climbs on one of the toughest courses you can try

Mentally the marathon is a challenge, let alone physically

Brilliant marshalling kept everyone going

Well set out aid stations with gels and water made it reassuring for everyone taking part
Right, I'd better get on with the gallery for Bournemouth with everyone else in the office...
Until next time - hopefully with Bournemouth online...

p.s. a message from Joe Henstridge - which after a sunny day like the ones we had on Sunday - are very relevant - don't get caught out in the sun (I know one of our photographers did), and always carry a sun-stick in the man bag.

  • Hi Guys,

I'm helping to organise http://bit.ly/something-silly-in-june-2012 - a fundraising event raising money and awareness for Melanoma and Factor50.org

There's 10 of us, including a melanoma patient running the 100 miles of the South Downs Way over 3 days in June.

We'll be finishing up in Eastbourne on the 21st of June and all support is welcomed. If anyone can help or you want to learn more please get in touch or go to the website and donate !

    Many thanks,

    Joe
