A great evenings racing in a superb new location - the other side of the river to last year but with a tidy new area and slipway for transition and off on the run along the beach.
The new Boat House Cafe played excellent hosts to the supporters waiting for the competitors to come back in (search on "misc") and the weather was perfect.
Due to the slightly industrial background I went for some context shots of the athletes exiting the water with the cafe in the background (tricky with the sun in the background - which is why I was using flash and a wideangle) and then close in "sportraits" of you finishing - making for some great isolation and shots you'd want to use as your avatar on those chat-web-forum thingys...

My favourite bit is when the boat off jaws comes into shot...I really need to overlay the jaws theme when that comes in...
