Oxted Runners - Titsey 10k

The Oxted Runners Titsey 10k was launched for the first time ever this Sunday.

The rain held off and a very healthy "at limit" turnout for the race of 250 turned up (ably helped by the prolific signage and fantastic numbers of marshals on hand) for the 10k around the woods and lanes of the Titsey Estate and Limpsfield Common.

Full results and the race website can be found here:

The starting pack, smoothly spread out by the finish-time pens at the start moved gracefully past the golfers (who were not quite as graceful) along the first path...

Although the ones at the back seemed to go a bit faster after they had turned and looked over their shoulder to see what was at their heels:

To that point even the race director went for a quick run along the course to check:

The course director gave a knowing nod after he had outrun the doggy:

First man back to the darkest deepest wood path back to the finish was Richard Lee-Smith, Striders of Croydon, 38:08

And first lady home was Evie Serventi, unattached, 42:55

Well done to everyone and congratulations to Oxted Runners on what looks like becoming a popular event in the calendar over the coming years.

10% of photo sales profits will go to the Races declared charity the East Surrey branch of the Alzheimer's Society - and you can get your photos from here:

All the best and see you out at a race soon !
