Next Events for September and October

With the coveted Sevenoaks Triathlon sold out as soon as it was online and the Farnham Pilgrim marathon was only accepting Marathon entries on the day this sunday (but might have closed now),  it's probably time for a quick look around at what is still open for entries in the next few weeks.

First off - on the 25th and 26th of September, in the A3/Surrey area is the For Goodness Shakes XT Festival organised by All About Triathlons. This has multi events on the saturday - an off road mountain bike triathlons (full and sprint), a duathlon, and an open water swim, whilst the sunday has a 4hr MTB enduro event and a series of running races from 5k,10k,21k(half marathon). Basically - there's something for anyone who fancies a bit of serious off-road action. Don't forget that the top pro off-road boys will also be here and there are no pre-qualification criteria so you can compete against them and see how you measure up !
Special toys and treats from this race include a limited edition gold FGS water bottle, and free race photos to download from our gallery afterwards.

If you're more East Sussex based then on the Sunday the 26th is the Firle Half Marathon - organised by Raw Energy Pursuits, a stunning off road race onto the South Downs National Park and past the Firle Beacon - with glorious views across Sussex and to the coast. It's a double bonus this year too - as there will be free event photos from this race from our gallery as well.

If like me you've a hospital appointment in the very near future or have a niggly injury that needs a bit of TLC and don't fancy doing those events quite so soon in the next few weeks - then save yourself for the start of October - and Sunday the 3rd with another multi-event race for you to play with.

This time - more M4/M3 based at Marlow it is the annual Rowers triathlon on October the 3rd - The Rowers Revenge, organised by F3 Events. Instead of a swim its a row on the ergo, and then a Bike and Run as per a normal triathlon. Last year had a strong turnout of over 300 competitors - but the expectation is about 400 this year - so make sure you get your entry in quickly.

Right, best get on with the rest of the weekends preparation work, and sorting out the results of the studio shoot on wednesday with World Champion Sophie Coleman.
And hopefully my other flag will turn up tomorrow - I left it at Newbury Tri by mistake - the sports centre have kindly posted it back to me !

Have a great weekend whatevery you are doing, even if it's just a parkrun, so until next time...
Anthony
