Results will be on the Steyning AC website soon: http://www.steyningac.co.uk/roundhill-romp/

It was a windy night at the Steyning Playing fields, the flags held up and Andy from Brooks put up the smaller arch, just in case. The clouds looked ominous and a quick check on the rain radar on the met office gave a guess of rain at 9pm, giving the field 1h30m to get home without getting wet.

The view back to Brighton from the top of the course

Sophia Warner, Paralympic hopeful started the races

The start of the tightly contested Junior race
The other problem of ominous clouds late at an evening 10k is that it gets darker earlier - ending up at ISO1600,f3.2 1/250th means it's very dark indeed and you need the sharpest of skills to get good clean images - and a monopod to hold it all steady.
The Sun showed it's last as the first of the Runners lined the horizon along the SDW

I hope it was just the wind that caused this, not the shock of seeing me

Fresh from running 44 ulttra miles in Cornwall. *That's* why your knees hurt Caroline.

These two stopped and posed for a photo. It's race photography !! Hence the one of the wind taking revenge here...

Happy to make it to the top of the hill

Happy Birthday ! "Mad" she said. I took no offence...

Good strong finish from the ladies winner at the final sprint.
From my reckoning from the pictures Arena 80 probably won the team competiton with a good 1-2 at the front, however there was a great showing from the Portslade Hedge Hoppers amongst many of the local teams - so good potential league points there.

So, very well done to everyone on the run, only one casualty with cuts and bruises seen in the photos from the decent down, and I hope that is all and you were all very careful. The Daughters enjoyed the BBQ too which is good.

Future races
WIth August on the way there are very few events lining up although I've previously blogged about the busy mid week schedule, however to give parents a decent bit of planning space  - one for the kids to have a go at in October is the Sevenoaks Tri Club Junior Aquathlon.
Here's a link to it on tri247 for more information: http://bit.ly/l13cMK
It should be good for any between 8 to 15 years old - so if they are at school and fancy a different sport - book out October the 2nd and get you children enjoying themselves without a Nintendo DS 3-D.

Many thanks to those of you who asked about the MRI head scan on wednesday evening - they definetly scanned me today, but now I have to wait for the consultants assesment, which might not be a long time, but then again it just might #NHS (but will get on the phone tomorrow, promise).

until next time,
Anthony
