Milland Valley Trail Race - Now live

The Milland Valley Trail Race Gallery is now live here:

Results can be found on the offical race website here: http://www.liss-runners.org.uk/17663.html

You would expect that on the first weekend of August that it would be bright, sunny and dry, like in previous years. Well it was almost - some bits of cloud and rain early on gave way to patchy clouds and blue skies, with a bit of wind up the top of the hills.
In the woods, it was darker than a dark thing - for the photographically minded ISO800, F3.5, 1/60th, so hunting for brighter areas became a priority if a shutter speed greater than 1/500th was going to be found anywhere.

Great Airplane at 4 miles

Rain man
Running off the top of the hill around the valley. Quite nice for it.

Runners in the distance

he regretted nothing...

Fighter jet Airplane

Good running up at the top

Some extra special efforts were made - you might need to look closer

Too much powerade clearly had it's effect
340 runners completed it in total - with one unfortunately having to go to Guildford Hospital after a fall with a suspected broken collar bone, so fingers crossed for her.

It was a lovely view from the trig point at the top of the hill down over the valley.
You should be able to click on the photo to view it larger (if you're reading this on the blog, not in an email).

Right, with the crazy goings on across the country and the totally unjustified violence and criminality, and the stock markets collapsing like a straw house I hope you can find some sense of reality and balance in the race photos, and that you, your businesses and your families are safe from the insanity.

If this is the silly season for news, I'm not looking forwards to when it gets serious.

Go carefully and until next time,

Anthony
