Abingdon Marathon 2011

On a crisp morning with a track temperature of 4DegC at 8:30 am and a 15minute earlier start time of 8:45 to avoid clashing with the Mayors favourite event later on in the town the 30th running of the Abingdon marathon gathered and then got underway. It was perfect weather for marathon racing - so a lot of PB attempts were going to be made, the only question for some was would the body break down.
Going through the Abbey arch again this year instead of across the town market square, the race does a 4 mile loop to the East and then south from the bridge to a loop towards Drayton and Milton for two loops and then a return to the track. Here's a Map:

A fantastic race, perfect weather, PBs all over the place, perfect marshalling, great friendships and familiar faces - things that make the Abingdon Marathon unique and a great race to have a go at (if you're into that sort of thing) and like a flat fast course.
Well done everyone -
