The Sharper Eyed visitors would have noticed it was actually live on monday afternoon, but we're cracking through the Capital to Coast images still and I didn't want to lose momentum on the office work with the team here on getting all the editing done. Only a few thousand left to go there so I now have my chance to get this written...
651 recorded finishers at this years Bewl 15, which took place in near perfect conditions around a nearly full (91%)reservoir. http://www.southernwater.co.uk/Environment/managingResources/reservoirLevels.asp if it hadn't been for the wind - it probably would have been record making conditions all round.
The race results can be found on the Nice Work results blog here: http://niceworkevents.blogspot.co.uk/ and are currently still provisional. The overall winner was Daniel Anderson of Hastings AC in 1:31:08, whilst Tina Oldershaw from Paddock Wood AC won the womens race in 1:40:48
Passing heavy showers, the kind of thing you expect in April, made course conditions a mixed bag of dry/wet/dry, and the wind and warmth drying out the rain that had fallen within minutes on some of the paths. The strong south-westerly wind made the latter half of the course hard work as the wind crossed the valley towards the Dam and the route navigates itself around the waters edge.
Ever had that feeling you were being followed ? |

Try the Hurt 12k/24k, at the Hurtwood (real name, not made up), near Guildford/Dorking direction (in between) for a bit of off road fun. Views from the north downs across Surrey and Sussex, and a few hills. Big ones, mind. Proper challenging stuff, entries getting into the 300 mark !!
