Two weekends without events...
This means, annual leave for some, my first blog post (hello, I'm Tony - I work in the office during week and photograph at the weekends, Anthony your normal writer is on leave and left me in charge!) a chance to pause and prepare for our second very busy time of year - September and October.
During those two months we're attending 30 events, likely to see 32,500 of you run, jog, walk, swim and cycle past and upload approximately 850,000 images of you in action to our gallery. As you can imagine this needs quite a bit of planning... This is why I love August to prep' for the Autumn and December/January to prep' for the Spring and early Summer.
Archives
When not planning I'm working on one of my larger projects which is to bring you your historic archived images. All the images we took in 2015 are live to view and purchase here:
I'm as quickly as our fibre connection allows uploading 2014's images - I've currently completed:
November 2014

December 2014

October won't be too far behind... Have an explore and relive your memories.
If you have a specific request from a previous event we've covered that wasn't in late 2014 or 2015, drop us an email and we'll dig them out. We've easy access on our offline server to events back to 2007/2008.
Rio Olympics
I'm thoroughly enjoying the Rio Olympics (although not the time difference) and our congratulations goes out to Adam Peaty and Jazz Carlin for their two medals in the pool. Our thoughts are with Dutch rider Annemiek van Vleuten who had an awful crash during the Women's Road Race and wish her a swift recovery. We've photographed numerous Sportives and Triathlons and falling off a road bike is very unpleasant at the best of times.
Not the Rio Marathon
Fancy an Olympic themed Marathon?
It's always interesting to see how creative Event Directors can be. In a couple of weekends time (21st August) is "London's newest marathon" the Not The Rio Marathon 2016. Based within the beautiful Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the race encompasses the VeloPark road circuit and finishes within the Velodrome. While you recover from the multi lap event there will be time to enjoy a drink and watch live the final stages of the Olympic Marathon. If I was a Marathon runner this would appeal, but I struggle to run around the block... which is a worry as I'm running the 14km Maverick Race Kent trail run in a month...
Here's the list of recent events, and future ones you might like to enter.https://sussexsportphotography.smugmug.com/Events/2014/201411
