A great start through the arch and into the new unknown of Pyestock |
Yes, another weekend where we dodged the rain !!
Saturday the heavy rain just started as we drove away from site, and Sunday was a beautiful sunny day which only started to cloud over later in the races. Air temperature has been a bit on the chilly side for the standing about and waiting before a race, but absolutely perfect for running and giving it some proper effort without worrying about getting too hot.
Well done to all the organisers - everything seemed to go very smoothly at all the events, and the new course at Brutal Pyestock was very well received by all.
Yes the Autumn half marathon and running season is in full swing !
Sorry to hear if you have just had your London Marathon rejection letter, just do a big city marathon on the same day anyway - at Southampton

A quick message of congratulations to Sally one of our photographers and directors here, who has recently (i.e. yesterday) managed to reach the top (19,800ft) of Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for the BHF - a cause close to my heart (literally). She has gone straight through her fundraising target - but all and every penny counts - so please feel free to donate, if only as recognition of how hard we have worked in the office here with her gone over the busiest weeks of the autumn... All money goes to the cause:

So with that, well done to Owen John who won the facebook prize on Sunday to guess the number of images we took at the Herts 10k - which was 72,747. He gets an exclusive SSP Tshirt to wear on training runs or in real competitions....
Until next time, and well done to the Wife Sally on the Killimanjaro. Can you come home now ? the kids miss you apparently.
