Brutal Pyestock, Herts 10k and the Chichester Half Marathon 2016

A great start through the arch and into the new unknown of Pyestock
Yes, another weekend where we dodged the rain !!
Saturday the heavy rain just started as we drove away from site, and Sunday was a beautiful sunny day which only started to cloud over later in the races. Air temperature has been a bit on the chilly side for the standing about and waiting before a race, but absolutely perfect for running and giving it some proper effort without worrying about getting too hot.

Well done to all the organisers - everything seemed to go very smoothly at all the events, and the new course at Brutal Pyestock was very well received by all.

Yes the Autumn half marathon and running season is in full swing !

Sorry to hear if you have just had your London Marathon rejection letter, just do a big city marathon on the same day anyway - at Southampton http://bit.ly/southampton-entry

A quick message of congratulations to Sally one of our photographers and directors here, who has recently (i.e. yesterday) managed to reach the top (19,800ft) of Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for the BHF - a cause close to my heart (literally). She has gone straight through her fundraising target - but all and every penny counts - so please feel free to donate, if only as recognition of how hard we have worked in the office here with her gone over the busiest weeks of the autumn... All money goes to the cause:

Dave points out the smallest competitor using the comedy arrow

All going well so far for him, no so much for her

I think he got some in his mouth and gagged a bit

Andrew had it all under control

There's always one person who behaves like Donald Trump

I have no words to describe this

Muddy splashy days

All a bit sci-fi

Iron man defies rust in mudbath shocker

because sometimes you don't want to hold hands

All good going through the ditch

Top hurdling skills

Caught out slightly by surprise by the jump

The hill wasn't that big !

look out for those Brutal mud baths

Finishing is always such joy !

It was a bit busy at the Herts 10k, with some tricky shade to deal with at the finish as usual - and that is preferable to rain.
Great start from the gantry

Heading full tilt to the first corner

All the way around keeping his head on !

Spot the camera and wave !

concentratey face

Not at the pointy end of the race

All going well so far

He runs like Peter Pan !

Big Hair and crazy sunglasses

Proper Mobotting

She didn't expect *that*

Running and Selfies - somethings going to give

top work - not far to go now

Looking strong through the corner

For the win in 32mins

Very good female result in the ground conditions

When Bolt got too tired

LOL @fans

Great achievement !

Great teamwork at the end

A drone free day at Chichester this year ?!

Always check your watch immediately

proud finish line crossing

Always pull a friend around with you

good finishing with the top tshirt on

Ed Gave the course double thumbs up

James Baker looked lonely

Kate Bush style running with lovely views

It all became a bit too much

Happy to be here !

Lunchtime

Good running along the old railway path

four hands are far more versatile

So with that, well done to Owen John who won the facebook prize on Sunday to guess the number of images we took at the Herts 10k - which was 72,747. He gets an exclusive SSP Tshirt to wear on training runs or in real competitions....

Until next time, and well done to the Wife Sally on the Killimanjaro. Can you come home now ? the kids miss you apparently.

Anthony
