All go at the Brutal race start 2018 |
and excellent turn out for one of the more popular locations for the race with a mix of hills, running, forest, mud holes, water and flat running. Together with the warmer weather that you could describe as almost spring-like a healthy turnout of Brutaleers made their way for a bit of Saturday exercise.
One mistake was that with all the heavy rainfall - the latent temperature of the water had still not fully warmed up, especially in the evergreen woodlands that make up the alpine driver training circuit - which caught a few people out !

Ruthless to the end, he leaves Mum to eat water in his wake |
 |
That awkward moment - are we still in Europe, is it just shaking hands, man hugs, or two cheeks air kissing, no tounges ? Damn Brexit ruining everything. |

You have been baptised into the clan of Brutal... |
so with it warming up, very well done to all my friends who completed the Brighton Marathon is warm and rain, in everything from sub 2:30 to 6hours - you know who you are, and well done to the kids who all did better than expected in the Brighton mini-mile on saturday whilst the Brutal was going on - again - you know who you are - simply outstanding !
So next weekend is locked and loaded for the Southampton 10k, Half and Full Marathon - a whole days running finishing with the kids fun run sprint, the forecast is good and perfect conditions - so enjoy the mini heatwave mid-week and see you out there soon !
until next time
Anthony
