Teamwork at the The Chestnut Tree House Littlehampton 10k 2018 |
Sundays Chestnut Tree House Littlehampton 10k is now live and online
http://sspimg.com/Chestnut-Tree-10k-2018-Gallery , and because I didn't get a chance to blog last week - what with the cataloguing of the nuts challenge - here's the list of galleries you should have checked out by now:
Some of you will note that we didn't cover the Pilgrim Half/Marathon this year, nor Bacchus at Denbies. Well Bacchus 2 years ago was sold to Denbies vineyard, who then appointed 2:09 events to organise it, and they have their own regular event photographer. They say they are free downloads and will stick them onto their facebook page album without anything being searchable - so good luck with that one, I wish you all well !!
Pilgrim told us this year (after supporting them since inception) that they were sorted for photography this year because they wanted to support more local companies. Clearly they weren't sorted because they didn't turn up to the event! I share our obvious disappointment on how these things end up working out. We know who the "new" Suppliers were(n't), and the irony being even though their office is more local to the race than ours, if they don't turn up what's the point ?- we've never let a booking down in 15 years. What to do eh ? Focus on the great events we work with I think !!
SO without much ado - here's the future event list we will be at to see you !!
If you're thinking of entering anything - here's a list for you to get cracking into !
Future Events NB the 7th of October is "a bit busy"...
Anyway,
Here's a few photos from the past few events - with so many there's a lot of editing down to a select few - so don't feel sad there's not too many of your event...

"No don't make me get out of the water" |
So that's about it for this weeks updates, next weekend is the joy of Reigate, and Clapham 10k - so it's going to be a furious few days of office work to get that all sorted too...remember to wear your race numbers flat and clear on the outside.
Finally a little sad mention on the passing away of Rachael Bland (nee Hodges), who in 2008-2011 as a Radio 5 late night presenter with Richard Bacon got me through many 12:30am to 1am moments of the night. I had the pleasure of photographing her at her first ever Triathlon - an F3 Event at Dorney Lake, and I thanked her for her work and passed her some photos for her to use for PR - which she immediately did.
Here's a little website news page that someone (not me!) put together around the time about her marathon attempt. (Ok more about her actually)...
I really ought to dig out the rest of those photos from 2010...
She spent the last months of her life working on a little podcast (ok, not that little it hit #1) to normalise the taboo of talking about cancer,
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0608649 and passed away almost exactly to the year after my father passed away from a type of cancer as well (Myeloma), so it was a particularly thoughtful week all round. Today's thoughts are with a friend who's mother passed away somewhat suddenly at the weekend, it never gets easy, you never forget, the seriousness of it always remains, but the crushing weight does lift slowly over time with plenty of love.
Until next time, train hard and enjoy the last of the perfect running weather...
Anthony
