| Last - Runner - Marshal |
Until they emerge out of the swirling mists of the Hampshire downs, somewhere above the rolling hills of Kingsclere, you never quite know when the race has passed by. "Last-Runner-Marshal" is the three word slogan of Sunday that we were all waiting for. Long sweeping vistas out across the north face over Watership Down (yes that's it's real name for those of you old enough to remember the film), looking back towards the Race Horse Estates of the Balding family below from the upland gallops. On google satellite view you can even see their own horse swimming pool. I think I can see the swim-up-bar as well. With the new waved starts and two races it was touch and go if the race had fully started and it was time to move to the next spot. It was all over, and everything had set-off as planned !

The Macmillan Mighty Hike - Lake District photos were live on the day using pic2go technology - an amazing effort on their hikes around the fantastic views of Ullswater.

Any-Other-Races ?
Did you do a Marathon, Ultra or Half Marathon at the weekend ? Did you get Free-Race-Photos as part of your race package ? (and I don't mean - did someone put 300 pictures on social media after the race for you to search through, without any search facility, or even an inaccurate search facility). Next weekend we're really excited to be helping Muscular Dystrophy at the Oxford Town and Gown - providing free race photos live on the day using pic2go technology. It's going to help all those fundraisers raise even more for a great cause !
If they're not on this list then they're not doing free photos - consider entering a race on this list instead for better race value !
Remember to just go to the SSP gallery if you have a historical race you want to check out - here there's over 24 million fully catalogued images there going all the way back to 2013 at the moment (we're slowly going back through the years - 2012 is up next).

Latest Pandemic Casualty
Whilst they are logically packing 60,000 people into Wembley as we stare into the abyss of wave 3 and half the population not protected (and last time I checked half the population can still suffer from a pandemic) and the delta variant cases doubling every week - it's with sad news that I have to report that this years
Abingdon marathon in October has been cancelled. The ongoing pandemic conditions, and their road closure restrictions mean that unless a mass start is possible - the race isn't possible - and so despite entries being non-refundable - the team has now messaged everyone entered to try to work out how to refund as much as possible. Fingers crossed to the Abingdon team on that one - there's a full message on
their website here . They've called it before they get hit with large deposits and costs - and that seems like a strong bit of leadership to us.
Three Word Slogans
So on that note, we continue to build back better, driving the race event industry towards better value for money, more sponsor engagement, better charity donations, and happier memories for all. When Race Photography is done right it is better for the event, the sponsors, the charities and the participants - that rare win-win-win-win ! I still need to get that down to a three word slogan don't I ?
