All go at the start of the Destination Basingstoke Phillips Law Half and 10k 2022 |
Powered by pic2go technology - the Race galleries for the Basingstoke Half and 10k, as well as the Clarendon Marathon 2022 were being populated live during the event and being shared out as soon as finishers had got their medals around their necks and had a chance to take in what they had achieved !
we've had over a quarter of a million participant page views over the two events over the past few days across both events. I was looking at Brighton Tourism's budget and social media success - based on their social page hits and running costs - it would cost just under £2000 to achieve this level of social sharing over a year - and much more to do it with the reach and impact we have achieved in such a short period of time. So - if you're looking for a social media advertising reach for your product, service or promotion - this is a channel you might not have even known about before. Apply some lateral thinking and get back to us !
Anyway, here's some hot Basingstoke Half marathon and 10k action just after he rain stopped filling that puddle at Farleigh Wallop...
The Basingstoke pacing team. Might need their target times in minutes as their race number next year. ? |
Cliddesten is nice, but not too damp |

And then there was the Clarendon Marathon as well...
It all starts near Salisbury, with it's wonderful spire, a favourite tourism destination for Russians.
the spire is this big ! |
Not got Novochoked ? That's a double thumbs up |
Double thumbs continues |
Across the ridge and along the route - makes for wonderful views and cheers
And then there are hedge lined paths near bridges |
Carrying a relay baton across ancient fields |
Surrendering to the pain of a marathon is understandable |

Always nice to see your friends out having a good time in the rain |

Those Burgess Hill runners get everywhere ! |

High Fives for the win ! |
So, whilst you know what I'm like - never to hold back on a commentary about the collapse of society as we know it, I'll hold back this time. But it's a 28% drop in the market place for entering events, and yes I've analysed it. That 28%/27% number keeps popping up in analysis across all sorts of people and events based industries that I'm looking at - from tourism to concerts to running events as a post-lockdown-covid effects. Keep your eyes peeled because it's starting to be measured by some very clever people - and it's important to rescale and resize for the new normal and continuously innovate.
Fingers crossed we still have public gatherings allowed so races can take place eh ? they'll be classified as protests and illegal gatherings soon and there where will we be eh ?
See you at an event near you soon - I can thoroughly recommend the RBK Half marathon - a lovely touristy run, and a lovely town centre to visit afterwards and places to visit - Enter it here - now :

and we look forwards to seeing you there - with the free race downloads ! (because the race organisers love you properly!)
Until nest time
Anthony
