When the rain passes, all becomes clear |
A weekend of what was going to be two muddy and wet days, turned into one muddy and wet day, and one cold but bright sunny day !
Here's the gallery links - remember Stinger runners - free downloads - just "order" the free downloads from the gallery - priced at £0, and then checkout - no money, no transaction and it goes straight to download etc.
In other news, the Leeds Castle Triathlon has been finished because of a local new 20mph speed limit on the cycling route. One of the most popular, most scenic and successful triathlon events we have ever had the pleasure of covering. Personally my understanding was that speed limits apply to motor vehicles only, unless there's an additional bylaw, but there we go. They have replaced it with a festival of sport, which is mostly running and a junior aquathlon - it will be interesting to see if that turns out as succesfully as the triathlons did. Difficult to run in the moat.
We are also starting to take bets on the cancellation of the london marathon due to the Coronavirus. Given that the 38,000 runner Paris Half Marathon was cancelled on sunday, and the Tokyo marathon was restricted to Elite athletes only with spectators told to stay away, it will be interesting to see the gradual locking down of locations and events, especially those with international travel and visitors involved.
If China can lock down a city larger than London by effectively barricading their equivalent of the M25 - it will be interesting to see weather or not we are closing in on the Mad Max apocalypse scenario any time soon. Of course we have seen the another view of how this will play out with Will Smith in "I am Legend". Thank fully spring is sprunging - and that will help slow the progress of the virus. Fingers crossed, and remember to wash your hands. Properly.
In the meantime - here's some photos of what people used to do before mass meetings in public places were banned. Parkrun you say ? err... Football will go ahead, but without fans ? lets see what a glorious leaders say after they have ignored even more expertsm because it always works out well when they do that.
Brutal Bordon. Muddy, wet, cold. Joyous.

tricky in the sun - but this shows exactly the correct way to wear a number on your running shorts. Turn it 90deg vertically on the front and we can read *all the numbers* - which makes it easier for you too !! |

Will always be the youngest it's possible to be on race day - by turning 18 on the day! Great achievement ! |
so on that note, wash your hands.
until next time, by which point I'll be older and wiser and over the 50 hill, and I'm not looking forwards to the downhill from there. so hey ho.
Enjoy your running and training whilst you can, and keep safe as always.
