7Oaks Triathlon race report
On a day which started at 4degC and forecast to be 22DegC, it was near perfect conditions for a spring triathlon. No ordinary triathlon, if M&S did triathlons, then this might be it (note for race director get M&S onto your sponsor goody bag list).

This is the biggest goody bag on the circuit, even bigger if you're a marshal because you get a baguette and chocolate bar too. I dismantled mine too quickly to get a photo of everything in it - but there is a list on the race website somewhere - the Buff, shower gel, power bar energy food, Triathletes World magazine, to name but a few - are all going to be deployed sometime soon... I hope you enjoyed yours too.

Enjoy the photo essay below, judging from the comments at the finish as I was getting the finish line portraits it was a good day for testing the soul against the hills of Kent. At least it warmed up, I got sunburnt arms, and the racing was good.

Transition full and ready to go

Careful scrutiny from the BTF refs

Good running out of the pool into T1
out on the bike ride through the flat Kent countryside
even Marshals with bad knees were supporting
Knowle Park was ready with the Deer to greet the early starters

Tea was available on the course

The scenic course includes the obligatory Oak Trees
Tight racing in at the finish
Bike crash injuries proudly displayed

Mr Bolt finished with a smile

numero uno

victory !

Dad with proud kids and Wife

Man love head-butt hugs

all smiles with the Tri Touch post race massages

Sponsors with the 7Oaks Evergreens in the middle - 50 races between them both

Winner of the Competitor Raffle and the free computer. Got to stay to win it !

a great crowd stayed on to support and for the prize giving

last man standing swept the course
Next weekend is the Bolt round the Holt races from AAT - the Angmering Bluebell 10k race from REP and the F3 Events Chilterns Dipper Sportives
Enter them quickly in the next few days before entries close - the weather forecast is looking cooler and a bit windier, but not too wet - so ideal for training and racing !

Until next time, train safely
Anthony
