Norwood Junior Bike Ride 2011 gallery now live

The Norwood Junior Bike Ride Gallery is now live and online here: http://gallery.sussexsportphotography.com/a.tlx?k=4i2zgsi

On a slightly grey day with the odd drop of rain several hundred intrepid riders set off on a course around the Land and estates near Haberdasher Askes School, near Elstree, North London.
The going was tough with some boggy muddy bits and some hard uphills and technical downhills making some real challenges for the younger riders from just 7 Years old.

The registration area was kept busy from early on

The mass start wave 1 went off well

Focussed concentration at the start of the challenge
look, no feet !

Gaby spent all day smiling like this

For a lot of the images it is impossible to read the helmet numbers - so please search on 000

This lad did five laps

Lots of proud fathers on Fathers day - it was better than doing DIY

Challengers rode all sorts of bikes

Tandem Riders covered the course too

He was actually on an electric bike and didn't touch the pedals once

One of the older challengers completing the 10 mile route

They let Dad lie-in on Fathers day

Some proud challengers nearing the end of the course

A good day had by all
Throught the sponsorship and entries the event has raised thousands of pounds for Norwood - a great charity that provides much needed support and care.

Their next Cycling event is very soon - if you didn't fancy the much overcrowded London to Brighton bike ride last Sunday, then the Capital-to-Coast bike ride is the one for you http://www.capitaltocoast.org.uk/ - with Hove-Hove routes as well as London to Hove routes, it goes  from Esher college near Hampton Court, past The Epsom Downs, over Box Hill, down the West side of the A23 through West Sussex, up over the Dyke (instead of Ditchling Beacon) to finish in Hove on the Kings Lawns. It's very scenic !
Frankly the weather has always been fantastic, so it's bound to be great again this year, and with the local Sussex loops instead if you don't want to go up to London - is a great day out. July the 10th - mark it in your Diary...and enter online http://www.capitaltocoast.org.uk/

This weekend sees a double G3 dose of 10k racing over at Newlands corner, on the Saturday Evening and then on the Sunday Morning. http://www.allabouttriathlons.co.uk/events_g3-run.html I think you can still enter online - and it's a free download gallery - so get in and get the best value for money race that you can at this time of year.

Until next time, I'd better go and write that blog for run247.com now I've got a moment and hopefully the pneumonic cough I seem to have acquired over the past three months will go soon.
